We celebrated our wedding anniversary at La Nouvelle in 2025, and it was an amazing evening: ultra high quality food, wine, service and atmosphere, all of it.
The room is the first thing you notice. The building is the Jefferson House, a two-story Victorian in Lincolnville that was the original homesite of Maria Jefferson Eppes Shine, Thomas Jefferson's great-granddaughter. Inside it's grand and beautiful while still feeling cozy, the kind of place you want to settle into for a while. That's exactly how they treat you: like you're there to spend the evening, not turn the table.
A French dish made for you, a bottle of wine their sommelier can pair with it, and a porch or courtyard seat when the weather's right. We first spotted the building from the trolley and said we had to come back. We're glad we did, and it's the place we send people for a night that feels special.
