Our pick for wine and bistro dining in St. Augustine
Why we send people here
We picked 17 King for our 15th wedding anniversary this October, and it turned into one of the best nights out we've had in St. Augustine.
The room is warm and elegant without being stiff. There's live music every night, and it was outstanding. The service was tremendous from the first cocktail, which was poured perfectly and clearly made with care, to the last glass of wine. Matt had a filet mignon that was the best he's ever had, or close to it. Malena had the scallops over risotto, which were mind-blowing.
We'd been curious about 17 King since we learned the team behind La Casa Studios, the beautiful event space a few doors down, was opening it. It arrived on May 1, 2026, built around a custom wine library that doubles as a wine shop, with chef Landry Wyatt running the kitchen. The answer to whether they could do it again is yes. We'll be sending everyone we know to go have the same night we did.
